ANODE OF THE WEEK 02
Weld-on anode with aluminum strap
Anode available in three alloys (zinc, aluminum and magnesium) designed for boats with an aluminum hull.
The particularity of this anode lies in the strap material that makes it possible to weld even on aluminum hulls. In fact, the traditional iron straps can not be welded on this type of hulls due to the different melting point of the two metals.

The versions of this anode in Zinc and Aluminum are suitable for boats sailing in brackish or mixed waters while the Magnesium version is designed for soft water.

In addition, Tecnoseal recommends that, in the case of installation of the version with an aluminum alloy anode, a gasket or a layer of varnish on the back of the anode is placed between the anode and the hull. In this way electrical continuity will only occur through the insert.
This expedient avoids having a direct contact between the anode in AL and the hull in AL protecting the area close to the anode from possible anodization phenomena with consequent cracking and exfoliation of the paint (blistering).
